For many years now the children of Holy Redeemer have supported the charity ACES (Action for the Children of El Salvador) that was set up and run by parishioner Bron Soanes. This year the Values Council wanted to make them the main focus of our Lenten fundraising. The Values Council worked with Mrs Sanders to organise a very successful storytime evening, Year 3 ran a bring and buy sale and Nicky Garrad (one of our Foundation Gorvernors) came into school with some parish helpers to support the children in screen printing some bags which the children then bought to give to their mums for Mothers’ Day. These three events raised an amazing £629.50! Well done to all those who helped in any way and to everyone who supported any of the events.

Today Bron came into school to hear about the children’s fundraising activities and so that the children could present her with a cheque for the charity. Bron was once again very touched by the children’s efforts and explained how the money would be used to help with a new support centre that the charity has just opened. She brought in small crosses for each class as a thank you.
